Powered by Plaud Intelligence, Plaud Desktop can detect when an online meeting is active by analysing changes in your computer’s microphone or system audio. Users can choose between:
- Meeting Start Notification (default): Plaud detects the meeting and asks before recording.
- Manual Recording: Start recording anytime.
- Automatic Recording: Begin recording the moment the meeting starts (off by default; enabled only by user choice)
In line with Plaud’s commitment to consent-first design, Plaud products never record automatically unless the user has explicitly enabled this setting. Users stay in complete control of what is captured, when, and how.

Availability
Currently, Plaud Desktop is available exclusively to users who own a Plaud AI note-taking device (such as Plaud Note, Plaud Note Pro, or Plaud NotePin) at no additional cost. The device does not need to be connected to the Plaud App while using Plaud Desktop. New users will need to complete device binding in the Plaud App before they can use Plaud Desktop.
